Analysis of Hard Coal Enrichment Effects in Jig Using Modified Control Algorithm

The issues of hard coal enrichment in jigs were introduced. Two technological systems were discussed: one with a set-up and a secondary enrichment system with the use of two jigging units with the same parameters. The windup phenomenon, occurring in digital PI algorithms and its negative effects were described. In order to limit them, a basic algorithm was modified by extending it to the windup compensation system. Then, simulation testing of the system without modification and modified algorithm was performed. A comparative analysis of the enrichment effects was performed using these algorithms for selected technological systems. Values of the dynamic parameters of the enrichment process and values of the quality parameters of the output product were used as the evaluation criteria.
