The results of modeling and experimental verification of the probabilistic model of layer density distribution in the jig bed allow to notice significant differences in the image of the enrichment process in the jig resulting from this model and the understanding of this process so far. The noticed differences are of great importance both for its theoretical description and for the practice of coal enrichment. They also allow to indicate the right direction of changes in the construction of the jig. This work is an overview of the observed differences and their significance for the correct understanding of the enrichment process in the jig. Among these details, the so far not noticed changes in the density distributions of the bed layers and the distribution of masses in individual layers related to the dispersion of particles of the enriched material are of great importance.
