The Bogdanka Coal Mine (Lubelski Węgiel "Bogdanka" S.A.) is a coal mine in the village of Bogdanka near Łęczna, in the vicinity of Lublin, 197 km south-east of Poland's capital, Warsaw, in the Lublin Coal Basin. Bogdanka is currently the most profitable coal mine in Poland. Coal Processing Plant (ZPMW) at LW "Bogdanka" S.A. is the largest and the most modern installation used to enrich coal not only in Poland, but also throughout Europe. The history of ZPMW began in the early eighties, when it became necessary to classify and improve the quality of extracted coal to get the appropriate quality parameters required by the recipients. For many years, the goal that was set before the Coal Processing Plant remained unchanged, while technology, infrastructure and ways of driving the movement underwent a real revolution. At present, the Coal Processing Plant employs a total of 455 people, including 35 supervisors and 420 employees at workstations. The structure of ZPMW consists of two main departments: the Maintenance Department of the Coal Processing and the Energo-mechanical Department. The article presents the scheme and technological balance of Coal Processing Plant at LW Bogdanka.
