Abstract

In the structure of Polska Grupa Górnicza sp. o.o. there are 9 hard coal mines (KWK ROW, KWK Ruda, KWK Piast-Ziemowit, KWK Bolesław Śmiały, KWK Sośnica, KWK Murcki-Staszic, KWK Mysłowice-Wesoła, KWK Wieczorek, KWK Wujek), including 16 coal processing plants. In all processing plants there are sections for the enrichment of coarse and medium grains, 10 plants have sections for 0-20 mm coal processing, and three plants have flotation sections. Currently, all processing plants produce power coal, and four processing plants also have coking coal in their production offer. In connection with the planned stage of the restructuring of Polska Grupa Górnicza sp. z o.o., in 2018 the use of further processing plants is expected to be discontinued. The takeover of spoil from extinguished mines requires thorough modernization of some processing plants. In other processing plants, gradual introduction of technological changes is carried out, adequately to market needs and changes in legal norms. The purpose of the changes planned in the processing technologies is to optimize the production offer while adjusting it to market expectations, as well as to reduce production costs in the scope of coal processing and increase the efficiency of its processing. The use of modern technological, technical and organizational solutions in processing plants of Polska Grupa Górnicza sp. O.o. requires constant development and training of personnel. Since 2009, teaching in the profession of a mineral processing technician has been restored.
