Abstract

In this elaboration there are presented a selection of various equipment and systems used in mechanical minerals processing plants. With the exception of the innovative dewatering system based on continuous steam filtration, all other listed products are proven solutions that have been successfully used in the global mining industry for many years. The paper presents the possibilities of applying the discussed products, their most important characteristics and their impact on the economics of the mining plant. The use of KREBS hydrocyclones for the classification, thickening, purification and enrichment with dense media, KREBS centrifugal pumps for hydro transport with a hybrid suction seal system, and the cooperation of centrifugal pumps with hydrocyclones are discussed. In addition, the solution to the problem of feeding the filter presses through the use of a hybrid system consisting of centrifugal and ABEL's displacement diaphragm pumps, which is cost-effective, extremely energy-efficient, low-maintenance. Moreover it was shown a new version, a much more efficient ANDRITZ screen bowl centrifuge used for dewatering of coal concentrate and the possibility of using ANDRITZ proven filter presses is also presented. Lastly, BOKELA's continuous-water filtration system, which enables low moisture content of the dewatered product and eliminates thermal drying, is discussed.
