Abstract

Mining is the branch of industry where catastrophic accident events may occur in the course of normal production activities. During emergencies involving people, rescue operations are carried out in a statutory manner. But these are not the only emergencies that may occur in the mine. In most of them we do not have any imposed action plans. The paper describes the use of the PCDA approach with Problem Solving elements when managing an emergency in one of the underground copper ore mines.
