Increasing the level of safety in the mine is closely related to the process of continuous improvement in the knowledge and compliance with occupational safety regulations by employees. The paper presents the results of surveys conducted in the hard coal mine. After the analysis of the questionnaire, the conclusions were drawn and the directions of preventive actions were proposed. Surveys were carried out and analyzed separately for the group of workers employed in the workers and mining supervisors offices. The individual responses of the respondents determine the influence of management on shaping the level of safety culture and improving working conditions. In addition, tabular and graphical results show the results for individual groups of workers. The regulations concerning the responsibility of the supervisors and their practical and substantive work-related issues have also been analyzed.
