Overview and Characteristics of Selected Smooth Blasting Methods in Surface and Underground Mining

Abstract

This work presents selected methods of smooth blasting for use in surface and underground mines around the world. For each method, a description of drilling and blasting works, and shooting parameters were made, as well as applicability, advantages and disadvantages of a specific solution. Various methods of smooth blasting were compared in technical, technological and economic terms, based on the information contained in the literature and data from companies performing drilling and blasting operations.
