Abstract

The preliminary research on the influence of blasting pattern, burden and spacing on the muck pile size distribution was presented in this paper. Furthermore, general information about room and pillar mining system, which is applied in one of the Slovak under - ground magnesite mine, were given. Based on the preliminary analysis an optimum blasting pattern was chosen. It was observed that staggered blasting pattern gives optimum size distribution with a minimum exit of the oversize rocks in existing mining and geological conditions.
