Abstract

Through a one-year monitoring of the coal combustion products (CCP) coming from the Tisová Power Plant, using lime for the desulphurisation of the combustion gases from fluidised-bed boilers burning lignite from Sokolovská uhelná, a.s., it was conclusively proved that these coal combustion products significantly absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere during free deposition. Nevertheless, this irreversible sorption of carbon dioxide is not included in monitoring plans for reporting CO2 emissions of any power plant, or in the plans for CO2 stratification.
