Abstract

The aim of this article is to provide a basic financial analysis of companies operating in the petroleum refining products sector. The analysis is primarily based on profitability, liquidity, efficiency, and leverage ratios. In addition to the ratio-based assessment, a fundamental sectoral overview for the firms examined is also presented. The review of fuel‐sector companies over the 2019–2023 period reveals a diverse financial landscape amid a rapidly evolving market and geopolitical backdrop. This timeframe was marked by significant challenges—including the COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine, the Middle East energy crisis, and the global drive to reduce emissions and achieve climate neutrality by 2050—and the impact of these factors is evident in the analyzed ratios.
